It's kinda been awhile....... :)

So I realize that it has been quite awhile since I have updated our blog! So much has been happening and we have been running around like crazy here in Jamaica! Instead of trying to sit here and remember and type all that's been happening I am going to put up as many pictures as I can from all that has been going on to help not bore you with lots of typing!

Afternoon fun! A lot of our afternoons are playing around with the kids after school and just hanging out together. We enjoy their company very much and always have a blast playing with them! Here they were showing us how to do handstands against the house.

Awesome!

Caleb is going to try it out to!

Glenroy loves to play with the dogs and is up at the house giving them water and playing with them any chance he can get!

The kids LOVE taking pictures so here is Kimberly, Caleb, and Quacian.

Our good friend Brenton is joining the fun as well!

They also love to do my hair which I don't mind at all! The girls are very talented with hair.

Justin wanting Caleb to flex his muscles.

This was an afternoon that we went to the beach after school, went spear fishing and had a cook out on the beach with Brenton! It was a lot of fun! We ate some fish and I gutted a fish for the first time!

Some salt and pepper!

Some chicken and potatoes! Yum!

Here is Caleb scaling and gutting a fish!

Here is me scaling and gutting a fish! Ah!

It was a little gross......haha

We also shot a pufferfish and cooked the meat from the tail and the face. It was surprisingly really good but really hard to prepare. They have really tough skin!

This gorgeous sunset ended our great night at the beach.

Our neighbor brings his goats to our house to let them eat the grass and they are often on our porch just chilling.

This is my Jamaican jerk soup! We eat this a lot!

Me and the puppies!

Brenton with a puppy!

Just hanging out and trying to make some bread that didn't end up turning out.

We did a youth retreat weekend. All the youth came over on a Friday night and we watched movies and had bible study together and then they slept over. We made breakfast the next morning and fellowshipped together and then took a trip to Guts River for the day. Guts river is a fresh water river that flows into the ocean. It was so beautiful! We went spearfishing, swimming and cooked some soup to share together. It was a really great experience for me and Caleb to lead together and be in the role of youth leaders instead of being in the youth. We enjoyed the time getting to know each one a little better and seeing the fun that they were all having.

A cute house on the way there.

Very bright colored houses!

This is Guts River! This is the most beautiful swimming hole I have ever seen! I couldn't believe how blue the water was! It was also really cold!

Here is Tray with a huge crab he got with a spear.

Making some soup!

This is the beach that the river flowed into!

Our youth LOVING the ocean!

Eating and hanging out together!

Group photo before we left!

Here are the pictures of some of the puppies! As of now we only have one left! It was hard for me to say goodbye to them! They were so cute and whenever we would come home from school or anywhere they would all run over to us. It's been a cool experience.

Sometimes the fog is crazy here and you can't see anything!

Brenton doing some work with his bees!

Bee boxes!

Over the past three weeks we have had three different visitors. It has been really great catching up with everyone and showing them our life here in Jamaica! In this picture is Logan the son of Kris who is in the picture below. Kris is our Pastor at our church back home. They really enjoyed the puppies and were tempted to take one home! Being with them was really refreshing for us especially spiritually.

This Monday we just got back to Ridge from Kingston. We spent from Thursday until Monday at the Jamaican Mennonite Conference with Lynn and Eldie Suter. Lynn is from Virginia Mennonite Missions and came to be a part of the conference. We really enjoyed our time with them in Kingston. We ask that you keep all the Jamaican churches and Pastors in your prayers. The Pastor of our church and Bethel Mennonite passed away suddenly at conference on Sunday. Pray for his wife and 2 kids as they are going through this very difficult and devastating time. He was very loved and we will miss him greatly.
